Biography
VMJ was founded in the early 90s and soon became a staple of the New Haven, CT alternative music scene. Pulling from influences such as Sabbath, The Stooges and Sonic Youth, VMJ burned bright and fast.
Made up of Vid/Elizabeth Walker on bass, Micah Anderson on guitar and vocals and John Nutcher on drums, VMJ played in many of the local clubs at the time in the tri-state area, including: Tune Inn, Toad’s Place, The Moon, and CBGBs.
John went on to create Caffeine Disk Records, releasing several 7 inch singles capturing a variety of bands and sounds from the New Haven scene at the time. One of the tracks featured here, “Fascination” was the opening track on Caffeine Disk's Blood from the Streets of New Haven compilation.
