Biographies
TONY SARACENE
Tony Saracene was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. By the age of sixteen he was touring the United States & Canada with the Barbara King Show & The #1 Action Band and also The Platters.
Upon moving to New York City, Saracene was signed to an EMI contract while playing in Hell’s Kitchen N.Y.C. who supported the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings X, Faith No More, BioHazard, Raging Slab and others.
While in New York, Tony became a session player assisting artists such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Francis Dunnery (Robert Plant’s guitarist), Leo Moon, Tara Angell and he was also commissioned to write the musical score for the feature film, A Day at the Beach, an Arrow Film with the soundtrack released by Koch Records.
Tony was also featured as a musician in the disco scene in the film Vampire Vixens from Venus which debuted on nation-wide television in 1994.
Later that year Tony wrote, recorded and produced his debut album, American Music.
In 2000, Tony moved to Austin Texas, where he built his own recording studio called Dub Studio. During this time Tony met Vala Cupp, back-up vocalist for John Lee Hooker, who flew Tony and Vala out to San Francisco, CA to record.
Shortly after, Tony and Vala formed their own band, Poon and enjoyed several successful years. Poon had two albums produced by Hunt Sales who was a drummer for David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Todd Rundgren.
Now living in Aransas Texas, Tony Saracene continues to write, record and produce music. Tony is an avid instrument and amplifier collector and his skill at repairing and rebuilding tube amplifiers is sought after by musicians throughout Texas.
TARA ANGELL
Brooklyn's Tara Angell has been performing live since 1998 and regularly played the NYC circuit from 1998-2010.
She recorded her debut record with a loan, got signed to Rykodisc in 2003 and released the critically acclaimed “Come Down” produced by Joseph Arthur, in 2005. (It was released on Rough Trade Records in parts of Europe and Naïve Records in France.)
Tara opened for Lucinda Williams at the Beacon Theatre in NYC in 2005 and played her song "When You Find Me" at a show with Lucinda and her band at Town Hall in NYC.
She has played live shows in Paris, Amsterdam, London, Milano, Stockholm, Ghent, Dublin and Mälmo.
Tara also did live radio performances in Berlin, NYC, London, Austin, Milano, and many college stations in the States.
In 2007, Tara released “The Equarium Sessions” EP co-produced by Kenny Lienhardt. The EP featured “Breaux Mart” - a song Tara wrote in New Orleans and recorded with the late Dave Rosser with guest vocal by Jeff Klein.
Since then, she has recorded several self-produced singles and some deep cuts available on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
After moving to upstate New York, Tara focused more on her visual art, but never stopped writing and playing. She also focused on DJing from 2010-2018 (both in NYC, Brooklyn and Hudson, NY).
In 2018 she played a solo show in Hudson, NY.
In 2014, she self-produced “Cyclone” in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn which she released In 2021 on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
Tara is a collage artist, photographer and is devoted to animal rights work in upstate NY, where she lives.
